Da Nang – Hue – Hoi An
Three touring days out of a Da Nang base, then a night in Hoi An. You cross the Hai Van Pass to Hue for the tomb of Khai Dinh, the Citadel and Thien Mu Pagoda, ride the cable car up to Ba Na Hills for the Golden Bridge, and give an afternoon and evening to Hoi An, from the coconut waterways at Cam Thanh to the lanterns on the Hoai River. A free day before departure is set aside for shopping and rest.
Day 1
Met at the airport and driven to your hotel in Da Nang. Nothing is scheduled after check-in, so the rest of the day is free to settle in, walk the riverfront or find dinner at your own pace.

Day 2
Collected from your hotel between 08h00 and 08h30. The road climbs to the top of the Hai Van Pass and stops there, with Da Nang laid out behind you and the long white curve of Lang Co Beach ahead. At 11h30 you reach the tomb of Khai Dinh, the twelfth Nguyen emperor, built between 1920 and 1931 and the one royal tomb in Hue that sets Western material against Eastern form. Lunch at 12h30 is Hue cooking at a local restaurant. At 13h30 you walk the Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where clothing must cover the knees, and at 15h00 Thien Mu Pagoda. You return at 16h00 through the Hai Van Tunnel, reaching Da Nang around 18h30 with the evening free.

Day 3
Picked up in central Da Nang between 07h00 and 08h15, with a stop at a traditional craft village on the way while tickets are arranged. At the Ba Na Hills station around 09h45 you take the world's longest single-rope cable car up to the French Village. At 10h30 there is the Lunar Castle, Eclipse Square and a film at the Moon Junction theatre, then buffet lunch from 11h45 to 13h00. The afternoon holds mini shows, the golden Sun World globe and Fantasy Park. At 14h45 a short second cable car drops you at the Golden Bridge and the Le Jardin flower garden, and at 16h15 you ride back to the Time Gate. The coach returns you to your hotel; there is no shopping stop.

Day 4
A late start: your guide collects you at 13h00 for Cam Thanh, where the water coconut grows straight out of the river. Fishermen show how the nets and traps are worked and how a round bamboo basket boat is rowed, with drums as the boats spin. At 14h30 you move into Hoi An Old Town for the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, a 200-year-old merchant house and a performance at the traditional arts house, then the Japanese Bridge, built more than four hundred years ago to link the Japanese quarter with the Chinese one. Dinner is Hoi An cooking. At 18h00 you take a boat on the Hoai River and release flower lanterns; the lantern streets and the night market follow. Tonight you stay in Hoi An.

Day 5
Nothing scheduled after breakfast. The day is kept for shopping and rest. Your guide will point you at the right streets for whatever you are looking for, and a driver or a further excursion can be added at any point.

Nights one to three are in Da Nang and night four is in Hoi An. The fifth night is not fixed on the operator's sheet: tell us whether you would rather spend it in Hoi An or back in Da Nang and we will set it before you travel.
